Muayad (Mo) Abbas is the founder and managing partner of Urbanis Advisors. With nearly three decades of experience across international real estate development, design, and investment, Mr. Abbas has led transformative projects throughout the U.S., Latin America, and the Middle East.

Most recently, Mr. Abbas served as Senior Vice President of Development at Mast Capital, where he led the firm’s flagship project — Cipriani Residences Miami, a $1B+ branded luxury condominium tower in Brickell. Under his leadership, the project achieved one of the fastest sellouts in Miami’s luxury market, while navigating complex negotiations involving branding, legal structuring, commercial leasing, design, and construction execution.

Prior to that, he founded and led the real estate development company behind Apeiron at the Jockey Club, a $500M wellness-focused residential and hospitality concept in collaboration with Horst Schulze (co-founder and former President of Ritz-Carlton), Pritzker Prize-winning architect Rafael Moneo, and hospitality icon Michael Bedner.

Previously, Mr. Abbas served as Vice President at The Related Group, overseeing the firm’s international development platform with projects exceeding $750M in Panama, Colombia, and Argentina — including the Belmond Hotel & Residences (formerly Orient-Express).

He also launched and scaled a privately held development firm in Kuwait, expanding its portfolio from $380M to over $500M in assets and pipeline value.

Mr. Abbas began his career in architecture and urban planning at the acclaimed firm Duany Plater-Zyberk (DPZ). He currently teaches real estate entrepreneurship as an adjunct professor at the University of Miami and previously served on the City of Miami Beach’s Affordable Housing Advisory Committee.

He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Miami (with a minor in Business Administration) and a Master’s in Real Estate Development from Columbia University. Mr. Abbas is fluent in Arabic, English, and Spanish.
