Moayad (Mo) Abbas is the founder and managing partner of Urbanis Advisors. Mr. Abbas has advised real estate clients across local and international markets for over 20 years.

Most recently, Mr. Abbas led the real estate development firm behind Apeiron at the Jockey Club, a $500M luxury wellness-focused residential and hotel development planned for the legendary Jockey Club property in Miami, FL. Mr. Abbas was part of a world-class development team that included Ritz-Carlton Group co-founder and former President Horst Schulze, Pritzker Prize-winning architect Rafael Moneo of Spain and former Chairman of HBA International Michael Bedner.

Previously, Mr. Abbas held a Vice President role at the Related Group’s international arm, Related International, for its operations in Panama, Colombia, and Argentina, which included the development of mixed-use projects valued in excess of $750M, such as the Belmond (f.k.a. Orient-Express) Hotel and Residences.

Prior to his time at Related International, Mr. Abbas was responsible for launching a privately-owned real estate development company in Kuwait and grew its portfolio from $380M to more than $500M in assets and pipeline projects.

His development strengths are complemented by his previous experiences in architecture and town planning gained by working at world-renowned Duany Plater- Zyberk (DPZ) Architects and Town Planners. Mr. Abbas is an adjunct professor of real estate entrepreneurship at the University of Miami and previously sat on the City of Miami Beach’s Affordable Housing Advisory Committee.

Mr. Abbas holds a Bachelors degree in Architecture from the University of Miami with a minor in Business Administration, and a Masters degree in Real Estate Development from Columbia University. Mr. Abbas is a native Arabic speaker, and is fluent in English and Spanish.
